The exhibition of French contemporary artist Joëlle Kem Lika, that started on July 1st in Miami, at Art Fusion Galleries, is being extended until December the 16th. The artist will be present in Miami for the Art Basel, from December the 5th through the 8th.

The extension of the exhibition is an opportunity for the artist to present new paintings of women surfers in large format. They will come in addition of the nine paintings that have been presented since the beginning of July : women with tatoos on their bodies, in all their beauty and power, riding on the wave of Life.

Joëlle Kem Lika seeks to express life in the matter. She develops three lines of work :
Abstract paintings, inspired by the light in the water, reflections of the sun in the ocean and the light, clouds in the sky…
Flowers and what she calls their “pulse of life”, that she expresses via the dynamism of the movement;
– “Surf Dreaming“, expression created by the artist. The portrayal of a modern surfer in an ancestral Arboriginal style creates a time anomaly that she calls “Surf Dreaming”.

Acrylic, watercolours, Indian or coloured inks, she has chosen techniques that are instantaneous, explosions of energy, that dry quickly, demand a steady rhythm, a subtle play between mastery and letting go, the intention and the surprise.

Joëlle Kem Lika is being represented by galleries in France and abroad : New York, London, Rome, Miami.
She regularly shows her work at art fairs and other contemporary art events : soon, Vienna (Vienna showcase, October 25/26), Mulhouse (Art3f, November 29/December 1st) and at the end of this fall, Art en capital at the Grand Palais, Champs Elysées, Paris (Salon des Artistes Indépendants, December 4 through 8, 2013).
She has created three galleries “La LiLa” in France : Paris, Burgundy (near Chablis) and Aquitaine (by the Atlantic Ocean).
